Cloud Computing

Last week we attended a seminar about cloud computing. Let’s see together what are its major advantages :
  • Slow computers will become faster using the cloud .
  • You can Access from multiple devices .
  • No need for backing up for data.
  • It stores your data and maintains it , and no one is able to steal  your data  , its impossible to lose the data .
  • There is no need to use An USB thus your computer will not be threatened by any viruses.
  • If your file has a certain virus, it will not be uploaded on the internet.
  • It also fastens your connection instead of sending attachment you can send the link to  cloud compounding .If your email has certain mistakes , you don’t need  to resend it again , you  can access cloud computing and then you can edit it .

There are different types of cloud computing :
  • Storage only type systems : saves your data on cloud .
  • Software as a service: allows you to use programs on internet ( word ,excel , Photoshop).
  • Paas ( platform as a service )  : a service that allows users to create saas application.
  • Google for education: unlimited storage.
  • Hybrid systems .
  • Google print: you can print form multiple locations and devices ,you  should have Google chrome  and an hp print .
  • Cloud antivirus: Which  is faster and lighter than traditional antivirus.

Cloud computing Security ranges from minimum to high. But cloud computing has certain limitations in which the Administrator of the university and of Google can see/delete your data , so if you uploaded important things and you didn’t save them on another device and the Administer of Google decides to delete your data , you will lose your data forever .So make sure that you save your data at least on two devices or services .

The Coldest Village on Earth

Have you ever thought of living on the coldest village ever? Can you imagine how your life would be? Oymyakon , Russia is the coldest village on earth . It’s known as the Pole of Cold , this northern Russian village averages -51°C in January, with an all-time record low temperature of -71°C in February of 2013.  It’s unbelievable right? Imagine yourself living in that village , it’s not easy at all , when you think of the low temperature -71°C , you will feel cold and you will start to quiver . if you forgot your pet outside, of course it will freeze and die.

So Living in such villages requires some real challenges: if cars are not parked in a heated garage
they have to be running all day elsewhere they will not function , eye classes are known to freeze to
faces  , so guys you have to stay inside your house to protect yourself ,phone batteries don’t survive
in the cold, fruit and vegetables are rarely eaten and these people depend on reindeer meat , horse
meat , fish and milk from their farms. Even you will not have the chance to enjoy eating fruits &
vegetables because  of the low temperature . But the shocking fact is that real people do live
there , there number is approximately 500 hundreds and they only have one store to provide
provisions to residents and one petrol station. Fur is their main source of warmth , they can’t follow
new trends .

Oymyakon is a unique place and its visited by tourists during summer time . It seems that nobody
dares to visit such village during winter because not everyone can live under such cold conditions.

One and Only Me

Shall I a sun be or a hurricane?

Shall I cry or smile?

I don’t know if I should rise or go away?

If I die,

Everybody will lose an exceptional sky

I'm lost, I'm done

I'm hopeless; I am a rusty crown

Happy I am when I feel unique

Sad I am when I feel a freak!

My thoughts long for friends

And my mind misses any new trends

Some consider me a walking museum

A monument of chivalric heroism.

Others view me as a musty antique

That resembles a meek.

For them, I feel pitiful

Because they are not careful

That I was once upon a time

A legend who can give infinite diamonds.

An Online Webinar

Engage your Students with Real World Projects

I attended my first Webinar on March 12 , it was a new experience for me and I found it really helpful and beneficial . A lot of experienced teachers  were giving their opinions and I was able to communicate with people whose positions are high . This webinar provides teachers with insights that have to do with organizing real-world projects .  First you have to find project-worthy ideas and you must connect learning activities to events that interest your students . The problem that you are working on must be accessible , actionable , big enough to matter and small enough to tackle . Second when you are approaching real-world projects , you must make your students aware of  three things : Awareness , Advocacy & Action . Awareness : Learners must understand a certain issue and they should raise other’s awareness. Advocacy : students are given the chance to give a voice for those who are voiceless that means that they must speak out for people who don’t have voice or they could propose solutions  and finally Action : they put their solutions into action. They gave us an example in which specific learners were working on a pollution program . Third The duration of your project should not be short , it should be long enough to the project cycle .Fourth You can test the project with your colleagues before assigning it and finally you can assess students progress by getting feedback from learners and you can ask them what are their plans for the next day and by observing them you can tell whether they are on the right track . When you design real-world project for your students you are making their learning more authentic and more meaningful and they will become more motivated and more interested plus they would be able to propose solutions for things that no one had ever proposed before . Your students will feel they are making a difference

7 Reasons Why Girls Love Chocolate

There are about 90% of girls around the world who love chocolate including me  . There are 7 reasons why girls love chocolate.  The first reason has to do with  Reflex action in which  girls have hormonal levels that cause physical and emotional ups and downs and girls eat chocolate as a reflex action .Also our brains produce a potion called phenyl ethylamine  when a girl falls in love, which is incidentally present in chocolate too. Chocolate spurts energy in which girls get the energy from the sugar and the cacao  and this enhances their moods. Chocolate makes girls feel happy because of its sweetness . The sweet taste of chocolate let out hormones of happiness. The fourth reason states that girls think that chocolate causes them to gain weight and thus they crave more for chocolate because it’s forbidden. Chocolate is eaten by girls because it has a great taste and because its wrapped in an attractive package . Finally Chocolate  enhances  girls’ moods when they are facing stressful situations. So girls get up now , search for some chocolate and eat as much as you want because life is too short to worry about your weight!

The Scarlet Letter

The scarlet letter is a novel written by Nathaniel Hawthorne in the late of 1840s . This novel talks about Hester Prynne who had to wear a Scarlet Letter “A”  as a result of her adultery and she was imprisoned because of her sin  .She gave birth to  a baby girl named pearl and she had delivered this baby when her husband has been away for two full years . Prynne had to wear this letter and to walk through town in order people can see her and can see her shame. later on  Hester Prynne's husband arrives in disguise , Once she is back in prison, he shows up and orders her to keep her mouth shut so he can know who is the person that she had sinned with and seeking revenge on her lover .Hester's husband tells the townspeople that he's a physician whose name is  Roger Chillingworth. His a smart man, so he realizes that the Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale is the likely father of Hester's baby. And he moves on to live with Dimmesdale and he was able to see him suffer spiritually from his guilt because Dimmesdale was not able to confess his sin in front of others. This situation continues for 7 years.
Finally, Hester realizes that her husband has been doing some psychological manipulation to the father of her daughter  and she tells Dimmesdale about the real identity of Chillingworth. They plan to run away  and to settle in England by creating a new life together , but Dimmesdale confesses his sin to the townspeople on the scaffold where Hester was publicly shamed seven years earlier. He goes out with a bang by ripping his shirt open to reveal the mark on his chest, just before dying. One year later, Chillingworth dies and leaves all his money and property to Pearl, which means that pearl and her mom can return to England to build a new life. After several years  Hester  returns to town and she lives back in her cottage and when she dies, she's buried near the minister, and they share a gravestone marked with the letter "A."

Indeed It’s a great Novel in which it makes you hooked to it . When you read this novel you start to think of people whom you wronged or people in which you judged them based on their reputation or based on what was spoken of them . As we know Hester was humiliated in front  of the townspeople because she had committed a certain Sin , But everyone of us has a deep dark secret ,we are not perfect and we have to learn how to forgive others. Moreover this novel explains that not everything that shines is gold ! .Dimmesdale who was a priest was also a sinner, but the townspeople didn’t know this and they used to cherish priests and to consider them perfect . We should not be fooled by appearances, we should always give people a second chance This novel highlights the idea that revenge leads to evilness, when you want to revenge you will do things that are not right and you will become evil Just as Chillingworht in which he was seeing how Dimmesdale was suffering day after day and he still  enjoyed seeing him suffering . This Novel allows you to visualize how Hester was humiliated when she stood on the platform in front of everyone and how people used to gossip about her , they didn’t sympathize with the little girl even though she had nothing to do with it , she was raised alone and she had no friends . A reader starts to believe if he/she had been there  he she/he would do something to stop what’s happening and to stand on Hester’s side. No matter what happens in life we should always say the truth and seek for it .Also This novel highlights the idea that for every action there will be certain consequence , if we did something wrong we should expect that we will punished As Hester and Dimmesdale were punished . The novel uses Hester to represent severe physical punishment where as Dimmesdale represents the agony of spiritual punishment , So we as readers will be able to analyze that the spiritual punishment is much more greater than the physical punishment and no matter what happens the truth will be revealed and we must not deny the truth .
